Role:
The mission of Sales is to identify prospects and facilitate the transformation to client or channel partners by educating opportunities on how MuniBilling's solutions will improve efficiencies in their utility billing operations or enable their business growth. The Business Development Representative seeks new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.
 
The Sales Development Representative contributes to MuniBilling Value Proposition by:
  • Becoming the first line of communication for prospective MuniBilling customers (Prospects)
  • Identifying the needs of a prospect and aligning the MuniBilling value proposition to said needs
  • Gathering competitive intelligence from local markets
  • Identifying potential growth areas for the MuniBilling brand (includes understanding local trade organizations and potential partnerships)
  • Converting prospects to potential revenue opportunities by identifying needs and offering a possible solution

Essential functions:
  • The first line of communication between MuniBilling and prospective clients
  • Develop rapport with the prospect
  • Identifies needs of the prospect and aligns needs with the MuniBilling value proposition
  • Clearly articulates value proposition to prospects and drives home reason to do business with MuniBilling.
  • Gathers competitive intelligence and partnership opportunities
  • Builds a pipeline of prospects that will eventually lead to actualized revenue for MuniBilling
  • Manages pipeline through qualification checks to make sure that prospect is a good fit for MuniBilling and vice versa
  • Understands and articulates qualifications for prospects to convert into MuniBilling customers.
  • Ability to recognize buying signals and objections
  • Ability to overcome objections through logical arguments
  • Ability to offer a meeting after recognizing buying signals
  • Utilizes active listening to understand prospects better
  • Keeps detailed notes in HubSpot CRM, including logging all activity and conversations with the prospect
  • Understands how to navigate CRM, Google Calendar, and other software components to give the sales representative a strategic advantage in working with the prospect
  • Can create a friendly environment where prospects get a smooth hand-off to the sales rep.

Candidate must have:
  • Experience in cold calling and utilizing the internet for research
  • Strong desire to succeed in sales prospecting
  • Must be detail-oriented, outgoing, organized, and positive
  • Must be competitive, driven by numbers and results
  • Excellent at building relationships
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • MS Excel experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Cold Calling and Lead Generation
Required education and experience
 
  • Cold Calling Experience Required
  • Experience with using CRM databases, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients/prospects through professional behavior, product knowledge, and through a network of contacts
  • Experience working remotely

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
